The Humble Petition of Josephine Hanly of No 6b Summer Hill in the City of Dublin Wife of Dudley Hanly late Surgeon in the 99th Regiment of Foot
That Petitioner's husband on the 22 day of June one thousand eight hundred and sixty intermarried with your Petitioner and there is Issue of the Marriage 4 Children-
In 1863 Petitioner's husband purchased in Hong Kong two Inland lots of ground No 484 and 485 near the Happy Valley which is now the Race Course in Hong Kong
Petitioner's husband being invalided returned to this County from Hong Kong in 1864 and since then he became of unsound mind
And in the year 1868 he was sent to Dr. Duncan's Lunatic Asylum where he now is still of unsound mind.
In Consequence of the ill health of Petitioner's husband and having 4 Children to Support and no means worth speaking of beyond his pay Petitioner is unable to pay the ground rent of those lots
and therefore is desirous that...
